Learn to talk in Dutch about your name, where you come from, your family and your job. You will definitely need these patterns in the first minutes of the speaking exam.
In the Netherlands, when you meet new people you usually shake hands and say your name. In the speaking part of the A1 exam you will most likely be asked to introduce yourself too: your name, where you come from, where you live, your family and your job.
In this topic you will learn the most important patterns. Remember: short, correct sentences are always better than long sentences with mistakes.
To say your name, use Ik heet…, Ik ben… or Mijn naam is…. You say where you come from with Ik kom uit Turkije.
To give your age, use the verb zijn: Ik ben 32 jaar. (You can also add oud at the end.) You say where you live with Ik woon in…, and which languages you speak with Ik spreek Turks en een beetje Nederlands.
